Linkin Park has officially welcomed Colin Brittain as their new drummer, stepping into the role previously held by Rob Bourdon. The announcement came during a livestream event on September 5, 2024, where fans were eager to learn about the new lineup following the passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington. Previously known for his work behind the scenes as a producer and songwriter, Brittain brings significant experience to the band.

Born Colin Cunningham in Nashville, Tennessee, Brittain played drums in the band Oh No Fiasco before transitioning to a successful career as a songwriter and producer. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous acts including 5 Seconds of Summer, Papa Roach, and A Day To Remember. Mike Shinoda, the band’s co-founder, expressed his excitement about Brittain’s addition, noting their musical chemistry and history of collaborating since they first met in 2021.

Bourdon's departure is due in part to his desire to create distance from the band, a choice that Shinoda respects while lamenting the loss of his long-time bandmate. Despite Bourdon’s absence, Linkin Park is forging ahead, with new music set to be released in the form of their upcoming album, "From Zero," scheduled for November 15, 2024, featuring their latest single, "The Emptiness Machine."

The band will also embark on a tour with stops in major cities including Los Angeles, New York, and London. Fans can look for ticket information on the band's official website. This marks a significant new chapter for Linkin Park, as they explore their sound with Brittain behind the drum kit.
