Linkin Park has officially returned to the music scene after a long hiatus, revealing significant updates regarding their lineup, new album, and upcoming tour. During a special livestream event on September 5, 2024, the band shared that they would be releasing their first album since the tragic passing of vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017. This new project titled From Zero is set to release on November 15, 2024, via Warner Records.

The current iteration of Linkin Park includes original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, alongside new recruits Emily Armstrong, from the band Dead Sara as co-vocalist, and Colin Brittain, a prominent songwriter and producer, who steps in as the drummer. Notably, founding drummer Rob Bourdon's return has not been confirmed.

To mark the announcement, Linkin Park also released their new single, "The Emptiness Machine," which serves as the lead track from From Zero. The band's press release elaborates on their reunion, stating that the surviving members initially met up without the pressure to 'restart the band,' allowing their natural creativity to flow and ultimately leading to this new chapter.

Linkin Park will be embarking on the From Zero World Tour, with six arena shows scheduled across major cities worldwide, including Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota. LP Underground fan club members can access exclusive pre-sale tickets starting September 6, with general sales commencing on September 7. In reflecting on their journey, Mike Shinoda shared that the album's title, From Zero, symbolizes both their beginnings and the upcoming adventure they are undertaking together with their new lineup. The band aims to blend their well-known sound while exploring new musical territories, as they embrace their legacy and look forward to the future with renewed energy.
