Courtney Love, Thurston Moore, Deb Googe of My Bloody Valentine, and Adrian Utley of Portishead are collaborating on a new project in London that focuses on covering songs by Marianne Faithfull, as confirmed by sources and social media posts. The gathering took place at Konk Studios, owned by the Kinks, with notable contributions from producer Rob Ellis, recognized for his work with PJ Harvey.

On September 10, Googe shared the news through an Instagram post that included photos from the studio, stating, "I spent a day in the Kinks' studio, covering Marianne Faithfull songs." Utley expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, describing it as an incredible blend of music and film, yet details surrounding the project's objectives remain unclear. The involvement of such acclaimed artists has generated substantial interest, particularly in light of Marianne Faithfull's enduring influence on music.

In December, a tribute album titled 'The Faithfull: A Tribute To Marianne Faithfull' featured covers by various artists, including Iggy Pop and Cat Power, encompassing 19 tracks originally by Faithfull. Furthermore, Marianne Faithfull is currently preparing to auction various personal items through Sotheby's, which includes items related to her fashion collaborations.

In a related development, Courtney Love's recent activities suggest a potential revival of her former band, Hole. This year, she has been seen collaborating in the studio with former Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur, marking their first interaction in over two decades. Furthermore, Love hinted at a return to Hole during a recent performance alongside Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, stirring speculation about a reunion despite her previous dismissals of the idea.

As these artists proceed with the covers project and Love's next musical steps, further details are expected to emerge.
