Gazelle Twin has released a new remix of her track 'Fear Keeps Us Alive' by the acclaimed band BEAK>, further showcasing her evolving sound. This remix serves as the inaugural track from her upcoming album, Shadow Dogs, which compiles reinterpretations of songs from her highly regarded album, Black Dog. The full album is set to arrive on October 18, 2024, via Invada Records and features contributions from a variety of artists like Gary Numan, Keeley Forsyth, and Penelope Trappes.
The remix captures a unique essence with a hypnotic undertow of bass reminiscent of the iconic sound of Public Image Ltd. (PiL). Billy Fuller from BEAK> expressed appreciation for the collaboration, stating, "We were honoured to be asked by Elizabeth to do a version of 'Fear Keeps Us Alive' for her Shadow Dogs album," and emphasized their aim to translate the experience into a live performance format.
Shadow Dogs envisions tracks from Black Dog reimagined, each contributing artist impacting the original's spectral quality, a concept inspired by Gazelle Twin's fascination with audio-visual tech and its ghostly connections. The original Black Dog album was highly praised for its exploration of themes such as childhood fears and their adult manifestations, earning accolades from critics.
In addition to her musical outputs, Gazelle Twin is scheduled for a performance with the London Contemporary Orchestra at the British Library on November 1, 2024. This event is part of the new season themed 'Tales of the Weird,' promising an immersive auditory experience.
She is also involved in theatrical endeavors, with a stage adaptation of the horror film Saint Maud, featuring her music, to premiere at the Live Theatre in Newcastle on October 10. Enthusiasts can listen to the BEAK> remix of 'Fear Keeps Us Alive' currently available online, solidifying Gazelle Twin's continued innovation in the music landscape.
