Jerry Cantrell has unveiled the music video for his latest single, "Afterglow," a track from his forthcoming album, "I Want Blood." The video was crafted by renowned photographer and filmmaker Matt Mahurin, known for his ability to blend realism with abstract and surreal elements. Cantrell described the collaboration as a fulfillment of a long-held desire to connect visuals with his music, referencing his previous successful collaborations with Mahurin on Alice In Chains' iconic videos, "No Excuses" and "Angry Chair." Mahurin, in turn, expressed delight at reuniting with Cantrell after nearly three decades, mentioning the inspiration drawn from the song while creating the video.

"Afterglow" is the second single from the upcoming album, following the release of "Vilified" last month. The song features guest appearances by Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses and drummer Gil Sharone. The album, co-produced by Cantrell and Joe Barresi (known for his work with Tool and Queens of the Stone Age), is set to be released on October 18. Each vinyl release of "I Want Blood" will come with a bonus spoken word version of each song.

In addition, Cantrell is currently on tour with Bush, with the North American leg concluding at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on September 15. Cantrell’s extensive career has cemented him as a significant figure in modern rock music, having sold over 30 million albums and consistently earning accolades from notable publications.
