On September 5, 2024, Linkin Park confirmed a significant shift in their lineup and creative direction, revealing new lead singer Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara and drummer Colin Brittain. The announcement comes after a countdown clock hinted at a surprise for fans. The band’s surviving members—Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn—are returning with a new project titled "FROM ZERO," slated for release on November 15 via Warner Records.

The newly formed group debuted their first single, "The Emptiness Machine," which reflects their journey from the band’s humblest beginnings. In a statement, Shinoda expressed excitement about the new collaboration, noting the vibrant energy brought by Armstrong and Brittain. "It is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound while exploring new avenues," he said.

Rob Bourdon, co-founding drummer, has opted out of the new project, having communicated a desire to distance himself from the band in recent years. Shinoda offered support for Bourdon's decision, wishing him well.

Fans can expect a set of tour dates including shows in Los Angeles (September 11), Brooklyn (September 16), and international stops in Hamburg, London, Seoul, and even Bogota later in the year. Pre-orders for the album and tickets for upcoming shows will begin shortly, amidst a flurry of new interest in the band.

A livestream performance was also held to mark the occasion, which is accessible for 24 hours. Further insights into the new album and the band's vision will be shared in an upcoming interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music. The full tracklist includes:*

  1. From Zero (Intro)
  2. The Emptiness Machine
  3. Cut The Bridge
  4. Heavy Is The Crown
  5. Over Each Other
  6. Casualty
  7. Overflow
