Matt Champion, known for his role as a member of the hip-hop collective BROCKHAMPTON, has launched his debut solo album, 'Mika's Laundry'. The album is characterized as an esoteric and immersive sonic journey, inviting listeners into an evolving world of sound that encourages exploration and self-discovery. With a total of 13 tracks, Champion explains that much of the project's writing and melodies originated from chance and open-ended exploration. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining an element of unpredictability in the creative process.

Recently, Champion pushed the album into the visual space with intimate live performances in Los Angeles and New York City, which served as promotional events for 'Mika's Laundry'. In a collaboration with visual artist Anna Pollack, Champion aimed to highlight the album's distinct aesthetic through vibrant green imagery. According to Champion, green feels natural, calming, and inviting, progressively became a thematic element of the project. He noted that while it wasn't initially planned to have green as the main motif, its recurring presence solidified its importance as the visuals evolved.

Alongside Co-Producer Henry Kwapis, Champion focused on exploration, suggesting that the duo often sought overlooked spaces to incorporate into the project. 'Mika's Laundry' is now available for streaming on all digital service providers, and fans can purchase the vinyl edition for $25 USD through Champion's official webstore.
