His passing was announced by his wife, Jessica Rushton, on his Facebook page, where she shared an emotional message expressing her devastation at the loss. "This is the hardest thing I will ever have to write. With absolute devastation I have to announce the passing of the brightest star, Robin after a 6 year battle with cancer," Rushton stated, encouraging fans and friends to share their memories of Guy.

In the wake of his death, numerous tributes have been made by fellow musicians and friends. Julianne Regan of All About Eve expressed her condolences by stating, "Gone, but what an impression he made. It was such a privilege to have known him." Music journalist Simon Price reflected on Guy's dynamic performances, noting how his energy could elevate every show.
