Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have confirmed they are creating music for the adaptation of Cave's novel, "Death Of Bunny Munro." During a recent interview with NME, Ellis hinted at the project featuring some elements reminiscent of their previous work with Grinderman. In his comments, Ellis revealed, "Yes, we are. I don't know if I'm meant to say that. Nick's been involved in overseeing it in some capacity, just looking on. We are doing the music for it. That might be the chance for a bit of the old Grinderman, maybe!"
The adaptation, which was first proposed in 2010, has been in development for some time. Announced by Sky Studios in November of last year, the series will star Matt Smith in the leading role. As details about the project emerged, Cave's anticipation seemed intertwined with a sense of nostalgia for the past while embracing their current collaborations.
Ellis also humorously referenced Cave’s previous moustache, joking about its historic significance, while alluding to the potential sound of the music reflecting the timeline around 2009, when the book was published.
Fans of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds can also look forward to the band’s upcoming North American tour, scheduled to commence today, in support of their latest album, "Wild God," marking their first tour in seven years.
