Norwegian band Sltface has unveiled their latest single, titled 'I Used To Be A Real Piece Of Shit'. The track is the opening song from their upcoming album, Film Buff, which is set to be released via Propeller on September 27, 2024. Haley Shea, the frontwoman, describes the song as a fun and tongue-in-cheek reflection on self-improvement, aiming to resonate with listeners who acknowledge their past flaws while working towards change.
The single's inspiration came from Shea's obsession with Tim Robinson's sketch show, I Think You Should Leave. The memorable line, "I used to be a piece of shit," struck a chord with Shea, prompting her to save it as a potential lyric. In her statement, she remarks, "It's a song for everyone that used to be a piece of shit, who's working on it, who's still kind of a piece of shit in some ways and that's ok!"
The song begins with a sharp declaration: Confessions of a full-blown narcissist/I guess all the attention really went to my head... demonstrating the band's witty songwriting style. Shea collaborated with Daniel Hedberg and Simen Flstad Nilsen on the track, with production handled by Hedberg and Preben Slid Andersen.
In addition to the new single, Sltface has announced their UK and Ireland tour, which will commence on September 23, 2024, in Dublin and culminate in London on October 3, 2024. Tickets for the tour are available for purchase now. Fans can check out their tour dates and secure tickets through Ticketmaster.
