On September 8, 2024, Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce were spotted enjoying a lively rendition of The Darkness' hit song 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' during the men's singles final at the US Open. The couple was in a VIP suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, NY, engaging with the music amid the excitement of the tennis tournament.

Swift was seen wearing a red-and-white checkered sundress paired with dark sunglasses, while Kelce sported a Gucci bucket hat. Both were animatedly singing and dancing during the performance of the 2003 song, much to the amusement of the audience. Este Haim from the band Haim was also present in the suite, joining in the fun as she sang along to the track’s iconic chorus.

This moment marks the second time Swift has publicly enjoyed this particular track; she previously lip-synced to it in a 2016 Apple Music advertisement. Justin Hawkins, the lead singer of The Darkness, commented on Swift's involvement back in 2016, when he expressed surprise at how she elevated the song even further. Hawkins has also voiced his admiration for her music recently, noting, "I think she makes really excellent pop music."

Additionally, Elton John recently expressed a desire to collaborate with Swift, calling her a phenomenon comparable to The Beatles, while Megan Thee Stallion has also shown interest in working with the pop star. These comments reinforce Swift's significant impact and ongoing relevance in the music industry.
