Nigerian afrobeat artist Alpha P has made his long-awaited return to the music scene with his new EP, Welcome to the Pack. Released on September 8, 2024, the five-track project marks Alpha P's first studio endeavor in two years, capturing a blend of innovative soundscapes and heartfelt lyrics.
Hailing from Benin City in Edo, Nigeria, Alpha P's music is often reflective and deeply personal. Collaborating with producer Wondah, he delivers an EP characterized by soulful melodies and poignant themes. The project opens with the introspective track "Light," wherein Alpha P addresses the emotional aftermath of losing a friend. This is followed by the romantic tune "OMW," featuring emerging artist Kemuel, which showcases interwoven melodies that highlight both singers' vocal strengths.
One of the standout tracks, "W," features a collaboration with acclaimed Nigerian rapper Olamide and producer ThisIzLondon, illustrating a playful take on love and relationships. The EP wraps up with two contrasting songs: the lively "Hold Ya" and the contemplative "4 AM," further solidifying Alpha P's versatile songwriting abilities.
