Tzuyu, a member of the renowned K-pop girl group TWICE, has officially embarked on her solo career with the release of her new single 'Run Away', which is featured on her first mini-album titled 'abouTZU'. The debut was marked by a press showcase on September 6, 2024, where Tzuyu expressed her eagerness to showcase a more mature and intense version of herself, stepping beyond the familiar bright persona fans are accustomed to.
Led by 'Run Away', the mini-album includes other tracks like 'Heartbreak in Heaven' and 'Lazy Baby', with contributions from notable artists such as rappers Peniel of BtoB and pH-1. Tzuyu mentioned that she fell in love with the single from the moment she heard it, captivated by its catchy melody and synth bass sound. Despite initial concerns regarding her ability to deliver the song, she felt confident in providing fans with something fresh.
Tzuyu's solo venture makes her the third member of TWICE to release solo material. Nayeon, the first to go solo, debuted with 'IM NAYEON' and its title track 'POP!' in 2022, followed by Jihyo's release of 'ZONE' and its lead single 'Killin' Me Good' last year. In recent TWICE news, JYP Entertainment, the group’s agency, announced its commitment to taking legal measures against creators of deepfake videos featuring the group.
