Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson has announced that he will step back from the band's live performances for the foreseeable future. The 46-year-old co-founder of the band, initially formed under the name Xero in 1996, shared this news in a statement released on September 7. Delson expressed his preference for working behind the scenes with his bandmates on music and live planning rather than performing live.

Replacing him on stage will be Alex Feder as Linkin Park gears up for a six-date world tour starting next week. Delson's statement praised his band’s new singer, Emily Armstrong, and drummer Colin Brittain, expressing excitement for this new chapter. He stated, "I am super excited to introduce Alex—my handsome deputy on the road. Alex is a world-class musician, a kind and thoughtful friend, and we are truly fortunate he'll be contributing his unique talent to our LP universe."

On September 5, Linkin Park held their first performance together since 2017 in Los Angeles, marking the debut of Armstrong, Brittain, and Feder with the band. The tour kickoff is scheduled for September 11 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, with a new album titled "From Zero" set to release on November 15. The lead single, "The Emptiness Machine," is already streaming.

Despite Delson's absence from the live lineup, his commitment to the band's creative endeavors remains strong. The full tour dates are as follows:

  • September 11: Los Angeles, Kia Forum, United States
  • September 16: New York, Barclays Center, United States
  • September 22: Hamburg, Barclays Arena, Germany
  • September 24: London, The O2, United Kingdom
  • September 28: Seoul, INSPIRE Arena, South Korea
  • November 11: Bogota, Coliseo Medplus, Colombia.
