Today, Norwegian-American artist Okay Kaya has officially released her fourth studio album, titled 'Oh My God That’s So Me'. The album was entirely self-composed in isolation outside of Oslo, Norway, and follows her critically acclaimed 2021 release, 'SAP'. Like its predecessor, 'Oh My God' delves into introspective songwriting, examining the complexities and idiosyncrasies of human nature.

In the past year, Okay Kaya made a significant life change, moving to a secluded island home that is only accessible by boat. This self-imposed exile allowed her to draw inspiration from the starkness and serenity of her environment. The isolation appears to have shaped the soul-cleansing aura of the album, encouraging a raw exploration of both personal and global themes.

The new album features singles such as 'Check Your Face', the ambient piano-driven 'Undulation Days', and 'The Groke', which addresses environmental concerns and the impact of manmade destruction on nature. Okay Kaya describes 'The Groke' in terms of Nordic folklore and recognizes its relevance to changing global climates.

The album sets a compelling tone with its opening track, 'The Wannabe', in which Kaya sings, "I’ll take the sensations, just let me back into my body again." This line encapsulates the essence of the album: a stark yet comforting reflection on self-reconnection.

Okay Kaya is set to embark on a European tour this Autumn, starting with performances at London’s Village Underground on November 8th, followed by Leeds' Belgrave Music Hall on November 10th, and Bristol's Dareshack on November 13th.
