PJ Harvey has unveiled a new track titled "Holloway," which serves as the first single from the upcoming official recording of the soundtrack for the play "London Tide." This soundtrack features music written collaboratively by PJ Harvey and playwright Ben Power, who adapted the piece from Charles Dickens' novel "Our Mutual Friend."

The full cast recording is expected to release on October 17, 2024, and can be pre-saved here. In the interim, fans can stream "Holloway" exclusively through NME.

"London Tide" had its world premiere earlier this year at the Lyttelton Theatre in London, where it ran from April to June. The storyline follows two women, Lizzie Hexam, played by Bella Maclean, and Bella Wilfer, as they navigate life's uncertainties against the backdrop of London. The mysterious character of John Rokesmith adds further intrigue to their lives.

The complete tracklist for the soundtrack includes thirteen original songs, featuring titles such as "London Song," "Embers and Ash," and "Homecoming," with "Holloway" being one of the highlights performed by the London Tide Ensemble and the National Theatre cast. The anticipation for the recording underscores PJ Harvey's continued influence in both music and theatrical realms.

In addition to her recent work on "London Tide," PJ Harvey also released a concert film earlier this year, titled "Live From L'Olympia in Paris," and performed a notable set at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival where she opened with a powerful seven-minute silence in collaboration with visual artist Marina Abramović.
