Worn Out, the hardcore band hailing from Cork, has released their latest EP titled 'Low', which showcases their uncompromising approach to metallic hardcore. The EP, consisting of four intense tracks, marks a significant moment for the band and is described as a surge of adrenaline, perfect for shaking listeners out of a stupor.

Kicking off with the first track, 'Deeper', the EP begins with a relentless metallic stampede that evokes comparisons to both Every Time I Die and Converge. This track is filled with an aggressive yet melodic quality, thanks in part to the deft mixing by Joe Clayton, known for his work with Pijn and Leeched. The guitars are designed to ricochet throughout the EP, giving each track a distinct identity.

The EP moves through various styles and influences, with Worn Out’s sound aligning more with Dying Wish than Deftones, yet the latter’s presence can’t be ignored particularly on the closing track 'Collapse'. This nearly six-minute song features panicked sections that contrast starkly with Xander Coughlan's piercing vocals.

Tracks like 'Twisting Knives' and 'Lose Sleep' provide further opportunities for two-stepping in the pit, delivering relentless riffs and a downtempo energy that recalls the workings of heavy machinery. The highly anticipated live performances in October with Grief Ritual and Lure In are expected to translate this high-energy assault into an unforgettable experience.

Worn Out has become a significant part of the Irish metal community, largely in part due to Evan Prendergast’s contributions through Deadcult Promotions, which works to elevate the live music scene in the area. With a strong showing on this EP, Worn Out is poised to make their mark on the broader European music landscape.
